Darlene is originally from southern New Jersey but moved to
Clarkesville, Georgia in 1999 to be closer to her family.
Her passion for flowers and the beautiful views of nature in
the north Georgia area have inspired her to create unique
artwork. Using her own garden flowers, or flowers from
weddings, anniversaries, funerals or any special occasion,
Darlene fashions a variety of original designs for floral
arrangements, bookmarks, photo mats, note cards and
pictures.
Darlene's talent has earned her awards notably at the
Philadelphia Flower Show in 2002, pressed flower
competitions sponsored by the World Wide Pressed Flower
Guild, and local events. Darlene is available to teach
pressed flower workshops upon request. She has done pressed
flower demonstrations at the Georgia World Congress Center
and for other local organizations.
As a member of the Executive Committee of the World Wide
Pressed Flower Guild (www.wwpfg.org)
Darlene is currently serving as Advertising Director, and
has served in the past as the 2004 WWPFG Calendar
Coordinator.
In June 2007 Darlene hosted the third annual World Wide
Pressed Flower Guild Conference in Clarkesville, Georgia.
Many members attended from all over the USA and the Bahamas.
The event included pressed flower exhibits, competitions,
workshops, and the annual flower swap. The event was a huge
success and a memorable time to meet with old and new
friends. |
