Giclée Prints

About Giclée
Printing
Giclée
(pronounced Gee’Clay) is a French term meaning spraying of
ink. Darlene has selected Giclée prints of her artwork as it
captures the colors perfectly and the prints look like her
original artwork rather than a print. Each print is done on
museum grade paper and the highest quality of ink is used to
insure longevity. Each print is a signed and numbered
limited edition.

Autumn Bouquet
The original design was an entry
for the division of Little Bitty Pretty One of the
2002 Philadelphia Harvest Show. This has been one of
my best selling designs used to create original
artwork from wedding and funeral flowers. Many of the
flower designs are created from carnation petals,
zinnia petals, rose petals, and dianthus petals. The
vase was made from a ginkgo leaf.

Amy's Bouquet
Amy Taylor asked me to do some
floral work for her wedding. We became friends. One
day she saw the original picture and asked me to make
a Giclee' print of this picture. Amy was so
enthusiastic and encouraging that I decided to call my
picture Amy's Bouquet. The flowers used in the design
include dianthus, spiraea, verbena, boronia and the
leaves are thyme all grown in my garden. The vase is
watercolor.

Balancing Act of
Roscoe the Clown
Over the years I
have collected clowns. This was an entry int the 2002
Philadelphia Harvest Show, Everybody Loves a Clown.
The clown was named after the only pet I ever had back
in 1969 and he was a miniature poodle named Roscoe. I
loved the fact that Roscoe is an action clown. Roscoe
is displaying that life is a balancing act and
sometimes it gets out of balance. My first challenge
of making a figure from pressed flowers.

Nana's Rooster
The original
picture was designed in honor of my Grandmother. She raised roosters, chickens, and ducks and
reflects on many fond childhood memories spent in
Pennsylvania with her. My Grandmother actually signed
the print "Nana's Rooster" at age 94.
