Gerbera Daisy plant-flowers drooping?
I bought a gerbera daisy plant 2 weeks ago. It was beautiful. The leaves are lush and the flowers were big and high. But when I came home today, the flowers collapsed down and are almost touching the table. The flowers themselves are still bright and not wilted at all. it just seems like the stem weakened. All the flowers are like it on the plant. But the leaves are lush and the flowers themselves look fine. What happened in a few hours?? How can I fix it. The soil is still wet. They’re not dry.
The blooms on gerbers last about 2 weeks, so if the leaves still look okay it just means the blooms are done. (if the leaves also were wilting I would agree with it being rot) The petals will soon start to brown and fall off, just follow them down to the base of the plant and pinch them off. If you gerber is getting enough light it will soon bloom again. Makes sure to fertilize it every three months to keep it blooming.
